In preparation to be responsible future breeders of NorthAmerican Sportpony Registry ponies (NASPR), we encourage NASPR young members to participate in this season’s Young Breeder’s Seminars. Whether or not you actually want to become an international competitor should not discourage you from learning what it takes to be a good breeder of NorthAmerican Sportponies.
Our guest speaker, the President of the NASPR, Sonja Lowenfish, brings with her a lifetime wealth of information on the European way of presenting, judging and grading Sportponies. Sonja is the founder of the United States Holsteiner registry as well as the AWR and NASPR.
Each clinic will address three objectives: the education, testing and selection of the NASPR Youth Judging Team for the WBFSH competition. Instruction will be given on presentation in hand, at liberty and free jumping. This clinic will also provide an education to prospective Sportpony judges and breeders or interested persons in the correct way of presenting a pony at inspection. It will de-mystify some of the techniques used in the grading and presentation of ponies the European way that is now becoming so popular in North America.
Training Seminars for young breeders in both the USA and Canada will be scheduled for summer and fall of 2007.
